Hi, I’m Victoria,
the soul behind La Câlinerie.

Caring for babies and supporting families isn't just something I do. It's part of who I am. I'm the granddaughter of two wonderful women who spent their lives as childminders, and from them I learned that care is more than safety or routine. It's about presence, patience, and the quiet, meaningful art of nurturing.

Like many people with a natural gift for caregiving, I was encouraged to pursue more "traditional" careers. I studied law for two years, working part-time as a childcarer alongside my studies. But no matter how far I strayed, I was always drawn back to the deep sense of purpose I found in supporting children and families.

In 2018, I moved from Paris to London and began working closely with families during their babies' earliest months. I supported first-time parents through postpartum recovery, built trust with families experiencing postnatal depression, and witnessed first-hand how transformative dedicated, responsive care can be.

Since then, I've supported more than 180 families across London, each with their own rhythms, stories, and needs. That breadth of experience means I've encountered nearly every sleep challenge, feeding difficulty, and anxious question a new parent can face, and I bring that practical knowledge into every home I enter.

My practice combines this hands-on experience with a strong foundation in evidence-based training:

My NCFE Level 3 Early Years Practitioner qualification gave me a thorough grounding in child development, safeguarding, and understanding how babies grow, learn, and communicate at each stage. This is the foundation everything else is built on.

My OCN Level 5 Maternity Nurse qualification deepened my expertise in the newborn period: feeding support (breast, bottle, and combination), postpartum care, establishing gentle routines, and supporting parents through the emotional intensity of those first weeks.

My OCN Level 6 Sleep Practitioner qualification is my most advanced credential and reflects my specialist focus on infant sleep. From understanding the biology of newborn sleep cycles to creating responsive, age-appropriate sleep plans, this training allows me to offer structured, evidence-based sleep support without ever resorting to rigid or distressing methods.

I also hold a current Paediatric First Aid certificate (renewed June 2026) and speak English, French (my native language), and Portuguese.

My approach is grounded in the belief that support should never feel rigid or prescriptive. Every family is different. I focus on understanding your baby's temperament and your family's values, then creating gentle, realistic rhythms that work for everyone. Whether I'm soothing a colicky newborn, helping exhausted parents reclaim sleep, or guiding a family through a feeding transition, the goal is always for you to feel confident, informed, and supported.

If you're welcoming a new baby or navigating the early stages of sleep and development, I'd love to hear from you. Have a look at my Services page to see how I work, or head to Contact to start a conversation.
