3. Why I use your data (lawful bases)

I process personal data for the following purposes:

  • To provide services and manage bookings (contract).

  • To tailor support and recommendations (contract; and explicit consent where required for special category data).

  • To communicate before, during, and after support (contract; and legitimate interests for reasonable aftercare and record-keeping).

  • To take payment and maintain accounts/tax records (legal obligation).

  • To keep children safe and escalate concerns where necessary (vital interests and/or legal obligation).

  • To run and protect the business (legitimate interests: IT/security, troubleshooting, preventing misuse).

4. How I store and protect your data

  • Digital records are stored on password-protected devices and reputable platforms used to run the business (e.g., email, booking and payment tools).

  • Access is limited to me, and to service providers acting on my instructions where necessary.

Retention: I keep essential records (e.g., intake information, session notes/summaries, invoices) for up to 7 years for professional, insurance, and accounting purposes. Routine messages are kept only as long as needed for your support and record-keeping, then securely deleted.

5. Sharing your data

I do not sell your data. I may share it only with:

  • Service providers (processors) used to deliver services and run the business (e.g., booking/scheduling, email, video calls, cloud storage, payment processing).

  • Healthcare or safeguarding bodies if there is a safety concern, or where required by law.

  • Professional supervision/learning: occasionally, I may reflect on anonymised cases for professional development. I will not share identifying details without your consent.

6. Booking tools and third-party providers

Appointments are booked via Acuity Scheduling (Squarespace Scheduling), which is part of the Squarespace suite of products.
Where I use third-party tools, they process data under their own privacy policies and appropriate security measures.

7. International transfers

Some providers may store or process data outside the UK. Where this happens, I use services with appropriate safeguards (for example, UK adequacy decisions and/or contractual safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data and receive a copy

  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data

  • Erase your data (where legally possible)

  • Restrict or object to certain processing

  • Data portability (for information you provided)

  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent

To exercise your rights, contact: hello@lacalinerie.co.uk.

If you’re unhappy with my response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk · Tel: 0303 123 1113.

9. Children’s data

I process children’s data with a parent/carer’s authority and only as needed to deliver support that is safe and appropriate.

10. Communications, summaries and check-ins

After a consultation, you will receive a post-consultation summary by email, and I will check in the following week to see how things are going.
If you contact me via WhatsApp/email, please remember these are third-party platforms. WhatsApp uses end-to-end encryption for messages and calls; however, please avoid sending anything you’re not comfortable sharing digitally.
